Helsinki, 24.3.2025 – Blastr Green Steel (Blastr) avaa toimiston Inkooseen kesäkuussa. Samaan aikaan yhtiön kotipaikka siirtyy Helsingistä Inkooseen. Hankkeen edetessä Blastr vahvistaa paikallista läsnäoloaan. Toimisto avataan Inkoon keskustan Säästöpankkitaloon osoitteeseen Ola Westmanin puistotie 5A, Inkoo. Kotipaikan siirtymän myötä Blastrin toiminnanaikaiset yhteisöverotulot tulevat tuloutumaan Inkoon kunnalle.

I takt med att projektet framskrider stärker Blastr sin lokala närvaro. Kontoret kommer att öppnas i Sparbankshuset i Ingå centrum på adressen Ola Westmans allé 5A, Ingå. I och med att hemorten ändras kommer bolagets samfundsskatt under verksamhetstiden att tillfalla Ingå kommun.

Helsingfors, 19.3.2025 – Närings-, trafik- och miljöcentralen i Nyland (NMT-centralen) har lämnat sin motiverade slutsats angående miljökonsekvensbedömningen (MKB) för Blastrs fabrik för produktion av stål med lågt koldioxidavtryck. Den motiverade slutsatsen är en sammanfattning av projektets betydande miljöpåverkan och baseras på miljökonsekvensbeskrivningen, de utlåtanden och åsikter som lämnats in samt NMT-centralens egen granskning.

Helsinki, 19.3.2025 – Uudenmaan elinkeino-, liikenne- ja ympäristökeskus (ELY-keskus) on antanut perustellun päätelmän Blastrin vähäpäästöistä terästä tuottavan tehtaan ympäristövaikutusten arviointimenettelystä (YVA). Perusteltu päätelmä on johtopäätös hankkeen merkittävistä ympäristövaikutuksista, ja perustuu ympäristövaikutusten arviointiselostukseen, siitä annettuihin lausuntoihin ja mielipiteisiin, sekä ELY-keskuksen omaan tarkasteluun.

Blastr Green Steel (Blastr) has selected Primetals Technologies, the market leader in environmental and energy-efficiency solutions for the metals industry, as its technology partner for the planned steel plant to produce 2,5 million tonnes of ultra-low CO₂ steel annually in Inkoo, Finland. The partnership encompasses a range of crucial components in iron and steel production, including the design of a Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant, an electric steelmaking melt shop, an Arvedi ESP line, and a continuous pickling and galvanizing line. Primetals Technologies will develop the up to 100% hydrogen-based DRI plant in collaboration with Midrex Technologies, Inc. (Midrex), the world leader in DRI technology.

Helsinki, Finland – 2 July 2024 – Blastr Green Steel (Blastr) has signed a partnership agreement with Lhoist, a global leader in lime, dolime, and mineral solutions, to develop a scalable decarbonized value chain for ultra-low CO₂ steel production in Europe. Blastr and Lhoist aim to reach an agreement on the future supply of Lhoist’s LEVEL|GREEN® low carbon lime and dolime, which would reduce Scope 3 emissions of the Inkoo plant with up to 50 kg CO₂ per tonne of steel, supporting Blastr’s sustainability targets.

The parties will optimize the efficiency and environmental footprint of the leading European ultra-low CO₂ steel project Blastr Green Steel (Blastr) and Inkoo Shipping have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for cooperating in land and harbor development in Inkoo, Finland. According to the LOI, Blastr will utilize Inkoo Shipping's land area to further optimize the layout design of the planned ultra-low CO₂ steel plant in Inkoo. The companies will also jointly develop Inkoo Shipping’s harbor to enhance the handling of Blastr's in- and outbound sea cargo.

Blastr Green Steel and Cargill sign a pioneering framework agreement to accelerate the radical decarbonization of the steel value chain Blastr Green Steel AS (“Blastr”), a leading developer of ultra-low CO₂ steel products, and Cargill, a leading player along the global ferrous supply chain, have today signed a strategic framework agreement (the “Agreement”) reflecting a strong joint commitment to realize the Blastr Green Steel Project to radically decarbonize steel production. The Agreement covers multiple parts of Blastr’s integrated value chain, including supply of iron ore, offtake, products sale, logistics, and financial services, as well as a USD 10 million equity commitment by Cargill in Blastr’s planned Series A financing round.
